How the rebate works
You pay the IGI authentication fee upfront. After the buyer confirms delivery and the review period ends, the fee is rebated in full from your commission. You pay it temporarily, not permanently.
Standard listings may still require buyer-side authentication after purchase. Pre-authentication is for sellers who want the IGI Verified badge and Fast Ship before going live.

IGI Authentication
IGI gemologists examine and certify your item - typically 3-7 business days after receipt. If IGI confirms a higher value band, you will be asked to pay the tier difference or arrange a return before the process continues.
If It Doesn't Sell
What happens to your item.
Pre-authentication improves your chances significantly - but here is what to know if your item remains unsold or you choose to withdraw.
Item remains listed
Your listing stays live for the full listing period with the IGI Verified badge and Fast Ship label still active.
You can request a return
If you choose to withdraw, you may request your item back from the authentication hub at any time.
Return shipping is the seller's responsibility
Inbound shipping was included in your pre-authentication fee. If you withdraw, return shipping and any return insurance you choose are separate. GEMGEM provides guidance before anything is arranged.
Authentication fee is not rebated
The rebate applies only on a completed sale with confirmed buyer delivery. It does not apply if the item is unsold, withdrawn, or the transaction does not complete.
