What GEMGEM’s Authenticity Guarantee Means
GEMGEM’s Authenticity Guarantee means every item sold on GEMGEM is made from genuine materials as described — real gold, real diamonds, real gemstones.
The exact authentication path depends on the item type. Not every GEMGEM item follows the same IGI route, so buyers should always check the item status shown on the listing.
How Authentication Differs by Item Type

IGI Authenticated, GIA Certified, and Authentication on Purchase
IGI Authenticated
IGI Authenticated means the item has been physically examined and graded by the International Gemological Institute, with a report or authentication result supporting the item details.
GIA Certified
GIA Certified means the item carries a certificate issued by the Gemological Institute of America. This wording should only appear where the item’s documentation and status support it.
Authentication on Purchase
Authentication on Purchase applies to unauthenticated C2C items. The buyer pays a 20% deposit plus the applicable authentication fee at checkout. IGI authentication happens after purchase confirmation. If the item does not pass authentication, the buyer’s deposit is refunded in full.
Authentication vs Verification
Authentication means an item is sent to a lab to be examined and graded. Verification means an item already has a certificate and is checked against that existing certificate.
These terms should not be used interchangeably. GEMGEM wording should always match the item’s actual status, certificate support, and transaction route.
