What GEMGEM Buyer Protection Covers

GEMGEM buyer protection is designed to make high-value jewelry purchases clearer and safer. Because GEMGEM includes different item types, buyer protection depends on the item’s status, authentication route, payment stage, and delivery stage.
Before placing an order, buyers should check whether the item is a Trusted Supplier item, a C2C pre-authenticated item, or a C2C unauthenticated item with Authentication on Purchase.

48-Hour Buyer Review and Secure Payment Handling

After delivery, buyers have a 48-hour review window. During this period, payment is held in escrow and is not released until the buyer confirms delivery or the review window closes without a dispute.
If a buyer identifies a material issue during the 48-hour review window, they may raise a dispute. GEMGEM reviews disputes based on the order stage, authentication or verification outcome, payment status, shipping status, and any mismatch between the item and the original listing.

Authenticity Guarantee

All items sold on GEMGEM are covered by our Authenticity Guarantee — real gold, real diamonds, real gemstones, as described.
For C2C items, IGI authentication confirms item details during or before the applicable transaction flow. For Trusted Supplier items, GEMGEM holds the supplier accountable for item accuracy and material genuineness, with certificate-backed information shown where applicable.
Not every GEMGEM item follows the same IGI route. Buyers should always check the item status shown on the listing before placing an order.

Authentication on Purchase

Authentication on Purchase applies to unauthenticated C2C items. The buyer pays a 20% deposit plus the applicable authentication fee at checkout. IGI authentication happens after purchase confirmation.
If the item passes authentication, the buyer has 48 hours to pay the remaining balance. If the item does not pass authentication, the buyer’s deposit is refunded in full.

Item Status Clarity

GEMGEM listings may follow different routes depending on item type.
Trusted Supplier items are sourced fromGEMGEM’s supplier network and may carry recognized certification where shown.
C2C pre-authenticated items have already been authenticated before sale.
C2C unauthenticated items are authenticated after the buyer confirms the purchase through Authentication on Purchase.

Insured Delivery

Every shipment is fully insured and signature-confirmed.
If a shipping issue occurs, GEMGEM will review the order stage, shipping status, carrier information, insurance coverage, and supporting evidence before confirming the next step.
