Selling Guide
List Eligible Fine Jewelry with Clear Marketplace Review

Sell Eligible Fine Jewelry on GEMGEM
GEMGEM allows sellers to list eligible fine jewelry and loose natural stones for marketplace review. Listings are reviewed for authenticity, quality, marketability, image completeness, and value before approval.
GEMGEM does not accept moissanite, artificial stones, lab-grown, synthetic, imitation, rough, uncut, or low-value stones. Listings must meet GEMGEM’s marketplace standards before they can be approved for public display.
Pre-Authentication and Certification Support
If a seller wants stronger listing support before sale, GEMGEM may offer a pre-authentication service where the seller submits the item to IGI before listing. GEMGEM manages the process end to end. Once authenticated, the item may be listed with the IGI Authenticated badge.
Not every item follows the same IGI route. Some items may already carry recognized certification. Some C2C items may be authenticated after purchase confirmation. Public wording should always match the item’s actual status and route.

Tips to Get the Perfect Photo of Your Item
A picture is worth a thousand words. What’s better than showcasing your jewelry with amazing photos and videos? Here are some photo tips to help you portray the item you are listing in all its glory and find buyers faster.
Make sure you are using a contrasting, solid background to allow your item to stand out and draw the buyer’s immediate attention.
Get photos from all angles to capture intricate details of the jewelry, including signatures, textures, colors, and even flaws.
Make your item stand out and sparkle by taking pictures under proper natural or artificial lighting. A pro tip? Avoid shadows and camera flashes.
Be absolutely sure that the pictures you are uploading are clear, uncluttered, precise, high-quality, and non-grainy. Remember that the photos are the best representation of your item and will most likely convince the buyer to make the purchase.

Gather Your Information
You need to provide the following key information to complete the listing process.
Certification Documentation
If your item already has a certificate from a recognized independent laboratory, include the correct certificate details when listing. Certificate information helps buyers understand the item’s status, but a certificate image or seller claim alone does not mean GEMGEM has completed a fresh authentication process.
If your item does not have certification, provide accurate item details and clear photos. GEMGEM will review the listing and apply the appropriate route based on current marketplace rules.
Receipt of Purchase
A receipt of purchase may help support the item’s history, purchase year, and ownership background. It does not replace authentication, certificate review, or GEMGEM’s listing approval requirements.
Private Appraisals
Private appraisals may provide helpful background information, but they do not replace recognized certification or GEMGEM’s approved authentication route where authentication applies.
Item Details
While listing your item, provide accurate specifications. If your jewelry includes diamonds, specify the 4Cs – Color, Clarity, Cut, and Carat Weight – with precision. Other details such as item weight, material, material purity, polish, and side stones will help buyers assess the true value of your item.
