How GEMGEM Works
GEMGEM is a trust-first marketplace for pre-owned fine jewelry and loose natural stones. Because different items have different authentication, payment, and fulfillment routes, the buying process depends on the item’s actual status.
GEMGEM listings may include Trusted Supplier items, C2C pre-authenticated items, and C2C unauthenticated items with Authentication on Purchase. Each route has different payment, authentication, and shipping steps.
Buying C2C Items on GEMGEM
C2C items may follow different routes depending on whether the item has already been authenticated before sale. C2C pre-authenticated items have already completed authentication. C2C unauthenticated items go through Authentication on Purchase after the buyer confirms the order.

Browse jewelry, loose diamonds, and gemstones across verified marketplace listings. Key listing details are shown before you decide to buy or make an offer.
Place your order
Your payment is handled securely while the order moves through its required steps. On eligible listings, you may also be able to make an offer first.
Authentication happens if required
If the item is a C2C unauthenticated item, authentication happens after purchase confirmation. If the item has already been authenticated before sale, no additional authentication step is normally required before dispatch.
Item ships to you
Shipping depends on the item route. Trusted Supplier items and already authenticated C2C items may proceed through their approved fulfillment route after payment. C2C unauthenticated items proceed to buyer fulfillment after authentication passes and the remaining balance is paid.
Once the item clears the required checkpoint, it ships to your delivery address with tracking.
Confirm receipt
After delivery, you can review the order and raise an issue if needed before the sale is completed and the seller is paid.
Outcomes
Item passes authentication
The order continues under the applicable payment and fulfillment route.
Material mismatch or downgrade found
GEMGEM may pause the transaction and follow the applicable review, counter-offer, or cancellation process.
Item does not pass authentication
For unauthenticated C2C items, the buyer’s deposit is refunded in full.
Buying Trusted Supplier Items
Trusted Supplier items are sourced from GEMGEM’s supplier network. These items are not C2C listings and do not automatically require a new GEMGEM-managed IGI authentication step as a condition of listing.
Trusted Supplier items may carry recognized certification where shown. GEMGEM holds the supplier accountable for item accuracy and material genuineness.

Full payment is required at checkout for Trusted Supplier items. The order follows the applicable supplier fulfillment route shown during checkout.
Item ships to you
The item ships from the vetted partner path with order tracking and fulfillment visibility.

After delivery, GEMGEM remains your platform point of contact if any order issue needs review.
Sell on GEMGEM
Sellers may list eligible fine jewelry and loose natural stones for review. GEMGEM does not accept lab-grown, synthetic, imitation, moissanite, rough, uncut, or low-value stones. Listings are reviewed for authenticity, quality, marketability, and value before approval.

Agree a sale
A buyer purchases at your listed price or sends an offer. Once terms are agreed, the order moves into protected payment handling.
Authentication or fulfillment step
If authentication is required for the order route, GEMGEM will guide the seller through the required next step. The exact process depends on the item status and transaction route.
Get paid
Once the order is completed and the required receipt step is satisfied, the payment is released to you.
